Or, in relative terms, TOMORROW. It\u2019s not the Olympics of course, but many of the participants would be hopefuls for the Olympics, so it is tangentially related. And I wanted blog content, so here it is.<\/p>\r\n<p>The problem is, many people <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/2020\/aug\/28\/tour-de-france-2020-cycling-grand-depart-nice-shrouded-in-fear-and-uncertainty\">speculate<\/a> that the race won\u2019t complete all 21 stages.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"\">They will try to contain the crowd, but I\u2019m not sure how they will manage that. Do you keep people off the roadside? I guess managing the mountain stages are probably easy to manage because access is relatively limited. City finishes may be a little harder. I\u2019ve been to multiple stages in the 90s (saw Lance Armstrong when his first stage ever, as I stated before) and there was of course a big \u201cvillage\u201d at the start and finish. If you don\u2019t set up the village, perhaps people won\u2019t come.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"\">There\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-tour-de-france-was-obsessed-with-germs-long-before-the-pandemic-11598608800?mod=hp_featst_pos4\">great article in the Wall Street Journal<\/a> about the precautions cycling teams have taken in the past regarding team, health. As team <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efprocycling.com\">EF Education First<\/a>\u2019s Tejay Van Garderen stated in the article, \u201cWe were all germaphobes before. In the Covid era, it\u2019s like that on steroids.\u201d Perhaps a cyclist should have used a statement other than, \u201con steroids,\u201d but we get his point.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"boldgrid-section\">\r\n<div class=\"container\">\r\n<div class=\"row\">\r\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-xs-12 col-sm-12\">\r\n<p class=\"\">NPR\u2019s Eleanor Beardsley, she with a Southern accent peppered with French, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2020\/08\/28\/907157374\/a-tour-like-no-other-how-the-pandemic-has-changed-the-2020-tour-de-france\">reported as well<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"\">One thing I\u2019m doing this year, as I have in the past, is a <a href=\"https:\/\/flobikes.fantasybytissot.com\/#\/welcome\">Tour Fantasy<\/a> game. I\u2019m terrible at these things. Here\u2019s my team at the start.
